7 Days of Seeking the Lord
Read 4 chapters of Acts each day
Pray and ask the Lord what the Holy Spirit would have you do.
In January, Crossroads Cowboy Church is setting aside a focused time to seek the Kingdom of God and the King of the Kingdom—Jesus. This is not about rules or religious routine, but about positioning our hearts to know Him more deeply through prayer, the Word, and fasting.
A Time of Prayer, Fasting, and Focus
Fasting is about the condition of the heart. During this season, we are inviting our church family to step away from distractions and intentionally SEEK the Lord. Whether through prayer, Scripture, or fasting, our goal is simple: to know Him better, with no hidden agendas or alternative motives.
There are different ways to participate, and we encourage everyone to be led by the Holy Spirit:
-
Complete Fast – Fasting all food for a set time while drinking water (⚠️ If you fast longer than 3 days, you must be led by the Lord.)
-
Daniel’s Fast – Eating whole, unprocessed foods while avoiding sugar, meat, and refined items
These are guidelines, not legalism.
Even small changes—like cutting out processed sugar—can create space for God to move.
Fasting must be accompanied by prayer and the Word to be effective. During this time, we encourage limiting distractions such as secular media and replacing them with worship, Scripture, and focused prayer.
Things to Pray for While Fasting
1. SEEK Him, to know Him
2. Ask for the Holy Spirit to be poured out in your life
3. The Lord’s Prayer (with Focus)
Our Father who art in heaven – Acknowledging God as Father and Supreme
Hallowed be Thy name – Acknowledging He is Holy and all that is Good Thy Kingdom come – Acknowledging Jesus as King and seeking Him
Thy will be done on earth – Pray God’s will over you, your family, and your environment
As it is in heaven – Pray God’s will to be carried out perfectly
Give us this day our daily bread – Acknowledging God as our Provider And forgive us our trespasses – Only God has the power to forgive
As we forgive those who trespass against us– We must forgive others daily
And lead us not into temptation – Be honest with God when tempted
But deliver us from evil – We need a Savior and Deliverer
For Thine is the Kingdom – Jesus is King of Kings
And the Power – Rely on the Holy Spirit; ask for more
And the Glory – All glory belongs to the Father
Forever – Live eternally minded, not earthly minded
Amen – “Let it be so.”
As we pray, we are asking the Lord to pour out His Spirit, draw us closer to Him, and align our lives with His will.
Our desire is not more activity,
just deeper intimacy with Jesus.
